Harvest of Peace

September 22nd

Date details +
    Room: Main Shrine Room

Our celebration begins with coffee, tea, and rolls at 10:00 AM followed by Community Sitting at 10:30 AM. As part of our sitting, we will do the Maitri Bhavana practice. In this practice we take on the suffering of those who are ill - whatever form that may be - and send them healing. There will be a reading from Chögyam Trungpa and we will do the Friendliness chant together before the practice. Instruction will be provided.

Participants are invited to write the names of those who they would like remembered in this practice on the clipboard which will be on the Gatekeeper's table when they arrive. These names will be read just before we begin Maitri Bhavana.

After a short break about 11:15ish (a good time to arrive if one cannot make it to the Community Sitting), the program continues. We will do an activity in which we honor each other, acknowlege how each of us contributes to our community, and end with a harvest lunch. Chilli will be provided. You are invited to bring a dish to share, but not obligated to do so. Your presence is a gift in itself. Please join us in celebrating the season!
