Children’s Day Community Celebration
In Shambhala culture, there are 4 special seasonal holidays each year. These special days of celebration are called Nyida Days – the word Nyida comes from nyima (“sun”) and dawa (“moon”). Nyida days occur on or near the days of the spring and autumn equinoxes and the summer and winter solstices.
Children’s Day is a winter solstice celebration for everyone. We delight in creating a wonderful morning together to honor the turning of the year, from darkness to the coming of the light. We especially honor our children on this day—their openness, their joy, the loving spirits that they are, and their journey in the world.
Details will be added as we get closer to the date.
