Through an exploration of the Buddhist teachings on intelligent compassion toward others, we begin to discover the joy of discipline, health and bravery. The meditation practice expands outward, including more of the environment, more of the "other." The warriors are led out into the world.

This simple movement corresponds to the transition from the Hinayana discipline of mindfulness to the broad Mahayana path of awareness and compassion. The heart of the Mahayana is an interest in others.

We introduce the language of the "Warrior-Bodhisattva." This in turn, invokes the joy of the Perky Snow Lion, leaping in the high realms. The lion breathes the fresh air beyond the cocoon. This cheerful, perky, joy provides the inspiration and energy to go forward on the journey of compassion and warriorship.
